How LockIn counts your time
You work in blocks. A block has to run for ten minutes before any of it counts as locked in, and only the time after that counts.

The dashed line is ten minutes of work. Everything left of it warms you up. Everything right of it is scored, and it is what the leaderboard ranks.
The four states
-
Warm upWorking, but this block has not reached ten minutes yet.
-
Locked inThis block passed ten minutes. Every second after that counts.
-
DistractedA messaging or entertainment app is in front of you.
-
IdleAnything else, including apps LockIn does not recognise.
Three rules that decide everything
- Only work time counts. The clock stops when you switch to Telegram and starts again when you come back. Twenty minutes at your desk with three in Telegram is seventeen minutes of work.
- A short break keeps the block. Leave work for under two minutes and the block survives. Longer and it ends, and the next one starts from zero.
- Blocks under three minutes count as nothing. Not even as working time.
Why a long session can still show zero
Every block warms up on its own. Only the part past ten minutes is scored.
| Work in one block | Warm up | Locked in |
|---|---|---|
| 8 min | 8 min | 0 |
| 10 min | 10 min | 0 |
| 20 min | 10 min | 10 min |
| 30 min | 10 min | 20 min |
Two blocks of twenty minutes give you twenty minutes locked in, not thirty. One unbroken block of forty gives you thirty.
